HIS 499: History Seminar

History 499 is the capstone course for history majors at York College. It is a course designed not only to help students polish their skills in serious historical research and writing (i.e. the historian's craft), but also to promote the notion of history as a viable and potential career rather than simply a college major. To this end, students are encouraged to submit their papers to Past and Present, the departmental student-edited scholarly journal at York College, as well as to present their papers at the departmental Celebration of Student Scholarship.

Prerequisite: HIS 200 and one Proseminar
